ABOUT LINDA MATIAS, PRESIDENT, LIO
Working independently or part of a crisis management team, Linda Matias
addresses outplacement requirements for small to mid-sized businesses
and develops customized programs, which meet the needs of the employer
and departing employees. To date, she has worked with professionals
and executives to explore their goals, develop career strategies, create
winning resumes, and implement effective job search plans.
Recognized as a career expert, Ms. Matias brings a wealth of
experience to the career services and outplacement fields. She has
been sought out for her knowledge of the employment market,
outplacement, job search strategies, interview preparation, and
résumé writing, quoted a number of times in The Wall Street Journal,
New York Newsday and has been interviewed by The New York Times.
Ms. Matias has further illustrated her expertise by authoring “Parting
Ways: Your Guide to Employees Outplacement Services,” subtitled “Learn
about outplacement services, how to select the right firm and effectively
handle employee notifications.” In addition, she is also the
author of the soon-to-be released "How to Say It: Job Interviews"
(Penguin Publishing). She is also a contributor to several
nationally published career-related books for major publishers including
Barron's, JIST Publications, McGraw-Hill, Simon and Schuster, and Adam Media Corporation.
In maintaining her commitment to the client, Ms. Matias ensures that
she stays abreast of industry and economic trends through ongoing education
and strives to achieve the highest designations in the career services
field. In this area, Ms. Matias has surpassed many, earning the Job & Career
Transition Coach (JCTC), Certified Employment Interview Coach (CIC)
and Nationally Certified Resume Writer (NCRW). As a certified career professional, Ms. Matias has special expertise
in using a comprehensive coaching and job search framework to help clients
in their transition and career development.
Ms. Matias is also committed to improving the career services industry
and is the former President of the National Resume Writer's
Association (NRWA). She is also an active member of Career Masters Institute
(CMI), Professional Association of Resume Writers and Career Coaches
(PARWCC).
